Central Illinois SQL Server User Group June 2015

Kevin Kline will be presenting up to 2 topics during this special event.  We will be holding the meeting at Island Bay Yacht Club in Springfield, IL, and will permit family members to join us for a swim while we hold our meeting.  We’ll be giving away 20 of these custom t-shirts (below) at each location and doing a social media campaign to encourage folks to tweet and post using #SQLVacation.

I’m still looking for a sponsor of the meeting, but if one is not found, I will find a way to have some food available (Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, soda or pizza and soda).

Kevin Kline is an expert and author on topics like SQL, data management, big data, IT leadership, enterprise architecture, and building technical communities. Author of "SQL in a Nutshell", popular conference speaker, blogger, magazine columnist, and world traveler.

First Session will be:

End-to-End Troubleshooting for SQL Server

Learning how to detect, diagnose and resolve performance problems in SQL Server is tough.  Often, years are spent learning how to use the tools and techniques that help you detect when a problem is occurring, diagnose the root-cause of the problem, and then resolve the problem.

Second Session will be:

Top 10 Admin Mistakes on SQL Server

The field of database administration is 'evergreen' meaning there is a constant stream of new and inexperienced practitioners.  Yet, ever year, these new DBAs continue to make the same mistakes over and over again.  Why not learn from the mistakes of others, so that you can make unique and exciting new blunders of your own! Or rather, why not learn from the mistakes of others so that your job is care-free and focused.

SQL Saturday's

Whether you're attending a SQLSaturday or thinking about hosting your own, we think you'll find it's a great way to spend a Saturday – or any day.  I've only listed a few that are in driving distance; many more are listed at the "SQL Saturday" home page.
