SQL Server Performance & Tuning for Mission Critical

Ross LoForte, Solution Architect Microsoft

A challenge faced by DBAs is to solve SQL performance bottleneck to maintain SQL Server running at optimal performance and highly available. A good running SQL Server requires hardware and SQL configurations and then query tuning. This session is to educate the DBAs on identifying performance bottlenecks then using SQL Server management tools to resolve these issues. Additionally, a SQL Server must be highly available to keep the business running, we will cover SQL Server Availability groups and failover clustering during the session.

About Ross:
Ross LoForte is a Technology Architect at the Microsoft Technology Center in Chicago focused on SQL Server solutions. With more than 16 years of business development, project management, and SQL architecture solutions experience, he has been working with the Microsoft Technology Centers the past 10 years and has led architecture design and proof-of-concept engagements for Microsoft’s largest and most strategic customers to design enterprise, mission-critical SQL Server solutions.

Training Opportunities:

SQL Saturday's

PASS SQLSaturday’s are free 1-day training events for SQL Server professionals that focus on local speakers, providing a variety of high-quality technical sessions, and making it all happen through the efforts of volunteers. Whether you're attending a SQLSaturday or thinking about hosting your own, we think you'll find it's a great way to spend a Saturday – or any day.  I've only listed a few that are in driving distance; many more are listed at the "SQL Saturday" home page.
