Featured Presentation:

SQL Server 2014 In-Memory OLTP Optimization - a Hekaton of speed!

James Kerr, Database Administrator State Farm Insurance Co.

Following PASS 2014, I decided to compile information from multiple presentations down into a single, high-level overview of In-Memory OLTP Optimization. We will be reviewing the different features of In-Memory OLTP Optimization, such as In-Memory Tables, Natively Compiled Stored Procedures, and Delayed Durability. There are many benefits and restrictions to these In-Memory OLTP features, so hopefully you will come away from this evening with a better idea of when and how you can leverage these features effectively.

About James:
James has been working with SQL Server for over 7 years, with an emphasis on Administration. He has worked on most aspects of SQL Server, including general database development, Reporting Services, Integration Services, and some Analysis Services. His SQL Server experience started with SQL 2000, and has continued up through SQL 2014. Hardware performance troubleshooting and hardware/infrastructure architecting and analysis are among his strengths.

Training Opportunities:

SQL Saturday's

PASS SQLSaturday’s are free 1-day training events for SQL Server professionals that focus on local speakers, providing a variety of high-quality technical sessions, and making it all happen through the efforts of volunteers. Whether you're attending a SQLSaturday or thinking about hosting your own, we think you'll find it's a great way to spend a Saturday – or any day.  I've only listed a few that are in driving distance; many more are listed at the "SQL Saturday" home page.
